Completes £2 million fundraising to advance uranium exploration in Tanzania

On 22 December 2006, Uranium Resources plc, the AIM traded uranium exploration and development company, announced that it had received binding commitments to raise £1.85 million through the issue of 73,900,000 new ordinary shares at 2.5p per share in connection with a £2 million placing that it was undertaking. The Company is pleased to announce that it has received further binding commitments to raise £152,500 through the issue of 6,100,000 ordinary shares of 0.1p each for 2.5p per share and that the placing of 80,000,000 new ordinary shares is now fully subscribed.
Application will be made for the admission of 80,000,000 new ordinary shares to trade on the AIM market. The new ordinary shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary shares of 0.1p each in the Company and dealings in these new ordinary shares are expected to commence on 15 January 2007.
